Projects

I am involved with a variety of projects and businesses. The following is a list of the most notable of these:

LoadingReadyRun

LoadingReadyRun is a video production and sketch comedy troupe based out of Victoria, British Columbia. Since joining LRR in 2008, I have designed and continue to maintain a financial management system, contributed camerawork, acting, writing, and video editing to the production of weekly videos and behind-the-scenes features, organized many fan contests, and created a weekly live-streamed talk show.

FiftyWordStories.com

FiftyWordStories.com is a website I created to share my microfiction. Nearly every single day between February 22, 2009, and February 22, 2010, I posted a story made of exactly fifty words. The site also featured weekly submissions from readers. I am currently on hiatus from daily writing, but plan to resume writing in conjunction with the release of a book which contains the best of my stories from the site’s first year. I have been solely responsible for the setup and continued operation of the site, including content and marketing.

Desert Bus For Hope

Desert Bus For Hope is an annual charity drive that raises funds for Child’s Play, an organization created to provide children in hospitals with toys and video games to help them through their hospitalization. Since 2008 I have participated in the planning and organization of the event, which has raised over $230,000 in three years.

The Connector

The Connector is a monthly newsletter published by Victoria Christian Reformed Church. The newsletter, run by a team of six-to-ten volunteers, typically runs between 12 and 16 pages long, and contains information about past church activities, articles about theology and church administration, book and music reviews, and a calendar of upcoming events. Since September 2009, I have acted as the Editor of the newsletter, copy-editing and occasionally substantively editing articles, editing and captioning photos, and coordinating with the Production Manager to put the content into print.
